To help schools observe National Storytelling Week, global edtech leader Discovery Education is offering teachers a host of new digital resources to inspire pupils’ love of writing and build confidence. Available via Discovery Education’s award-winning Espresso and DoodleEnglish, the high-quality content is closely mapped to the National Curriculum for English in UK primary schools.
Taking place from 1st to 9th February 2025, National Storytelling Week is an annual celebration of the power of sharing stories. The theme of this year’s event is ‘Reimagine Your World’, and Discovery Education’s resources will empower teachers to ignite pupils’ natural curiosity for storytelling, helping them to reimagine the world around them.
Discovery Education’s National Storytelling Week resources include:
- Mini Lessons: interactive ‘National Storytelling Week’ lessons to inspire story creation, differentiated by Key Stage – in Espresso
- Literary Genre Films: a new series for KS2 pupils, exploring literary genres including fantasy, mystery and autobiography – in Espresso
- Interactive SPAG Exercises: exploring language in a fun, approachable way to build children’s writing confidence – in DoodleEnglish
