Birmingham-based telecommunications company, Contact Group (www.the-contactgroup.com), is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted for Technology Supplier of the Year in the 2011 EducationInvestor Awards! Contact Group has been recognised for demonstrating outstanding business success in the educator sector.

Contact Group, the new trading name of Truancy Call Ltd, enables schools and local authorities to disseminate important information quickly and easily via email, SMS and automated phone call. For example, over half a million text messages were sent to parents as schools closed due to strike action recently.
With over a decadeā€™s experience delivering solutions informed by, and designed to answer, real school needs, Contact Group works with over 2,000 state and independent primary and secondary schools, academies, nurseries and sixth form colleges in the UK and Ireland. It has established partnerships with many top academies and federations including ARK, Oasis Learning Community, EACT and Pimlico Academy.

Since its inception in 2000, Contact Group has gone from strength to strength, growing its customer base and developing new products to meet the needs of schools and local authorities. Contact Group achieved an impressive net profit of Ā£1million from a Ā£3million turnover in 2010 as a result of increased usage and delivering quality solutions at a highly competitive price to the market. It increased its market share from 6 percent in January 2010 to 9 percent in June 2011. Between 2011 and 2012 turnover is forecasted to increase by 37 percent with net profit expected to increase by 50 percent. The expected growth is due to the efficient use of technology achieved by streamlining traditional processes, increasing customers and maximising customer usage.

Stephen Clarke, Managing Director of Contact Group, enthused: We are delighted to be recognised for the successful implementation of our services and continuous success throughout the UK over the past 11 years, helping schools to achieve maximum return on investment for technology and to take a proactive approach in tackling issues such as truancy, bullying and parental communication.

The finalists will now be judged by EducationInvestorā€™s panel of independent expert judges from across the education world. The winners will be announced at a black-tie event Gala Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel on the evening of 17 November.
