Backed by BESA –
A signal that schools can trust

For educators

Your guide to choosing trusted educational suppliers

Choosing suppliers is an important part of delivering great outcomes for learners, but it isn’t always clear who to trust.

When you choose suppliers that are BESA members, you bring greater clarity to that decision – because if it’s built for schools, it should be Backed by BESA.

But what does this mean for educators?

When a supplier is Backed by BESA they:

  • Are assured as part of our professional community
  • Are committed to high standards and ethical behaviour
  • Adhere to BESA’s mandatory Code of Practice – more on this below
  • Engage with educators responsibly and transparently.

Ultimately, being Backed by BESA means a supplier is one of our members – and has chosen to be accountable to these standards.

So, the next time you’re reviewing suppliers, make sure to look out for the BESA logo – as a signal of standards you can trust.

Together, their commitments create a better, more trustworthy and consistent supplier landscape – so schools, colleges and other education settings can buy with confidence.

The BESA Code of Practice

At BESA, we set clear expectations for how our members work with educators through our Code of Practice – which contains five core pillars:

  • Quality and Standards
  • Integrity
  • Transparency and Openness
  • Safeguarding and Data Security
  • Fair and Respectful Conduct.

The Code exists to support high standards and positive, respectful professional relationships between suppliers and their customers in the education sector.

You can find out what the five values of the BESA Code of Practice mean for you via the link below.
