About the role:

As a Research Manager you would be expected work on a range of projects, providing full-service support to our clients, from initial project setup through to final delivery of project findings. Our projects cover a range of research disciplines, which include:
– Market landscaping research
– Thought leadership
– Impact evaluation
– Brand and communications optimisation
– Customer satisfaction
– New product development

 

The types of methodologies that you could expect to work on include:
– Online surveys
– Focus-groups
– In-depth interviews
– Diary studies
– Longitudinal online forums

 

The types of tasks include:
– Liaising with clients and suppliers
– Conducting one-to-one research interviews
– Designing surveys
– Analysing data (quant and qual)
– Managing projects

 

Who would this role suit?

While there is no single ideal candidate for this role, the following would be highly beneficial:

 

Personal attributes:
– A keen interest in the education sector (schools, higher education, home learning) is important.
– At present, Green Shoots is single-person operation, and therefore the successful applicant will be employee #2! A willingness to get involved in all aspects of a research project is therefore essential.
– Someone who values flexibility from their work. We are especially keen to hear from anyone who is looking to get back into work following a career break and is seeking ongoing flexibility.
– Confidence to push yourself beyond your comfort zone, whether that be moderating focus groups for the first time or presenting research findings to an audience.

 

Professional experience:
– Prior experience managing a research project. Projects are expected to be varied, and there are some specific skills that would be beneficial:
moderating focus groups
conducting in-depth research interviews
conducting online surveys
conducting international projects
ability to find a story within a large body of data
– Prior experience liaising with clients
– Familiarity with market research survey software, such as Alchemer, Survey Monkey or Qualtrics

 

Conditions and pay:

– Salary: £35k Pro-rata (£21k for 0.6 FTE)
– Hours: 22.5 hours per week
– Holiday: 25 days per year (pro-rata) plus shut down between Christmas and new year
– Contract term: Fixed term contract – 12 months with potential to turn this into a permanent position
– Location: Remote with option to work from office in Stamford, Lincs, if preferred. Occasional travel will be required.
– Right to work: Must have legal right to work in the UK.
